Annealed Steel Wire

Rolling Trade LTD provides high-quality annealed steel wire with excellent flexibility and ductility, designed for various binding, forming, and industrial applications. The wire is produced from certified low-carbon steel rod, cold-drawn to the desired diameter, and then annealed in a controlled atmosphere to achieve a soft structure and dark finish.

Key Features

  • Manufactured from SAE 1006 / SAE 1008 or C4D1 + B steel grades
  • Annealed in furnace to relieve internal stress and enhance ductility
  • Soft surface, dark color, and smooth texture
  • Easily formable and bendable for binding, tying, and coiling applications
  • Available in coils, rosette coils, or compact bundles

Applications

  • Construction site tying wire
  • Packaging and bundling wire
  • Agricultural and horticultural use
  • Wire mesh production and general purpose use
  • Manufacturing of nails or shaped parts

Tensile Strength

Annealed steel wire has a significantly reduced tensile strength compared to cold-drawn wire due to its soft, ductile condition. Below are typical tensile strength values based on the steel grade and full annealing process:

Steel Grade (SAE) Condition Tensile Strength (MPa) Elongation
SAE 1006 Fully annealed (soft) 280–350 > 30%
SAE 1008 Fully annealed 300–380 > 28%
SAE 1010 Fully annealed 350–450 > 25%
C4D1 + B Annealed with boron 380–480 20–28%
